Purpose

The Trainer, Pharmacist trains newly hired Clinical Pharmacists, Clinical Pharmacists transitioning teams internally, as well as Pharmacy Fellows on the basic functions essential for their new role. The Trainer, Pharmacist has strong knowledge of basic Clinical Pharmacist functions, including but not limited to, completing verification of prescription drug orders, communicating with prescriber offices to coordinate care, and communicating with patients regarding prescribed therapies.

Responsibilities Designs, develops, and delivers onboarding and ongoing training programs for Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacy Fellows to be able to:

Complete verifications of prescription drug orders for completeness. Communicate with prescriber offices for order clarification and coordination of care to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes. Communicate with patients regarding prescribed therapies to improve patient compliance and adherence. Facilitate prior authorizations and enrollment of patients in financial assistance programs. Supervise pharmacy technicians and other support staff during course of daily activities

Engages in bi-weekly meetings with the Role-Based Training team. Engages in recurring Pharmacist team meetings to maintain excellent understanding of current policies and procedures. Serves as the primary point of contact for questions and escalations from the Role-Based Training team in the absence of the Supervisor, Role-Based Training. Conducts classroom, virtual, and one-on-one training sessions using adult learning principles. Assists with development and maintenance of training materials, guides, e-learning modules, job aids, and competency assessments. Facilitates an on-site, 8-hour training team presentation on Operations/RCM processes for all newly hired PANTHERx associates on a rotating basis. Coordinates with other members of leadership and the Clinical Pharmacist staff to develop a training plan that helps ensure all Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacy Fellows are trained adequately prior to joining their RxARECARE teams for program-specific training. Facilitates additional training for Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacy Fellows with leadership as needed. Identifies skill or knowledge gaps and propose targeted learning interventions. Partners with pharmacy operations, clinical, compliance, and quality teams to ensure training reflects current policies, SOPs, and therapeutic knowledge. Supports new program implementations, system changes, and process improvements through updated training. Ensures safety of patients and personnel by exercising good pharmacy practice in the process of drug therapy instructions to the patient. Reviews literature and other materials pertinent to the practice of pharmacy and attend/complete education and training programs. Tracks all interactions with patients and manufacturer representatives, utilizing mutually agreed upon platforms, to the extent permitted by law. Accepts direction from Leadership regarding various elements of specialty call compliance programs. Performs all other duties as assigned. Required

Qualifications

Doctor of Pharmacy of Registered Pharmacist degree from an ACPE accredited institution. Active and unrestricted Pharmacist licensure for Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Active and valid driver's license. Minimum of two (2) years of pharmacy experience. High level of independent judgement, individual initiative, and time management skills. Ability to communicate effectively in a manner that is clear, logical, and consistent. High level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of three (3) years of specialty pharmacy operations experience, including cold chain management experience. Minimum of five (5) years as a practicing, licensed pharmacist.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
