SUMMARY:

The Computer Repair Technician, Senior diagnoses and repairs issues with computers, printers, and other peripheral devices as quickly as possible to minimize disruption to District students, teachers, and staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Repairs or replaces boards, components; performs adjustments and conducts testing. Diagnoses and verifies repairs and problems. Picks up failed hardware from campuses or makes on-site repairs. Diagnose, repair and test functionality of hardware. Installs parts, loads software, and tests devices. Provides IT work order support to district staff. Determines corrective measures and parts needed, order parts if necessary. Installs parts, loads software, and tests devices. Documents repairs and work performed on devices and returns devices to appropriate campuses as needed. Supports the relationship between the Phoenix Union High School District and the public by demonstrating courteous and professional behavior when interacting with students, parents, visitors, and school staff; maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, client records, and school information; follows Governing Board Policies; performs all other related duties as required or assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines:

High School diploma or GED equivalent; AND two years technical certificate in a related field; AND three years of experience repairing and maintaining computers and peripheral equipment; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

License and Certification Requirements:

A valid Arizona State Driver's License is required.

IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND ABILITIES Skill in installing and configuring operating systems and common software applications. Ability to maintain accurate records and accurately document repair procedures. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, in particular using technical and non-technical language to explain complex subjects and processes. Ability to safely operate a vehicle. Skill in understanding, explaining, and applying relevant job specific duties, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and procedures. Abiity to provide excellent customer experiences, including but not limited to interacting tactfully and courteously with the public. Commitment to create and sustain a thriving learning and working environment for students and staff. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to use initiative within organizational policies, procedures and guidelines. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed at District facilities and school campuses. May be required to climb ladders, operate hand tools, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds; may be exposed to electrical shock. Physical ability to perform essential functions.
