JOB SUMMARY Works under the direction of the Final Assembly Supervisor or designee. Will be responsible for the final assembly, soldering, and final testing processes of Lavys, Combys, shower cabinets, drinking fountains, and any others. Using a torch, operator will be expected to be able to successfully solder various types of copper and brass tubing to the unit. Will work with minimum supervision and assist Team Leader when needed.
JOB DUTIES
Solder/Torch copper or brass tubing and other materials Clean and prepare surfaces to be soldered. Solder any parts needed including connecting water lines for showers. Read and interpret blueprints and/or shop drawings. Assemble, align, and clamp workpieces into holding fixtures to bond, heat-treat, or solder fabricated metal components. Complete final assembly processes on Lavys, Combys, shower cabinets, drinking fountains, and any others. Check and do final testing of units. Set up, operate, or tend welding machines that join or bond components to fabricate metal products or assemblies. Inspect, measure, or test completed metal workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using measuring and testing devices.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
One or more years' experience or training in torch soldering of various metals. Will be required to pass employer's soldering skill test. Have had experience using small hand tools. Must be able to read blueprints and/or shop drawings Have a working knowledge of precision measuring devices, and be familiar with all types of sheet metal material. Comfortable working within a machine shop environment Mechanically inclined and basic math skills Operate forklift a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Must be able to push, pull, squat, bend and stand frequently
