About the Role
iSphere is seeking an experienced
Project Engineer
to support our client's
Pipeline Affiliate Company . This is a hands-on role in an operating environment-ideal for an engineer who thrives on managing multiple projects simultaneously and collaborating across disciplines to ensure operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities Champion environmental, health, and safety standards as the highest priority. Oversee project management tasks: updates, forecasting, cost control, scheduling, change management, documentation, and closeout. Define and develop project scope, goals, and deliverables in line with staged gate project management practices. Prepare cost and schedule estimates, vendor bids, and funding requests. Ensure compliance with industry specifications and regulatory standards (DOT, PHMSA, FERC). Manage vendor relationships: bid evaluations, equipment/material specifications, procurement, and follow-ups. Coordinate across Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Turnaround teams for seamless execution. Support field activities, mechanical completion, commissioning, and startup documentation. Track modifications and ensure accurate, timely documentation back to Operations. Must-Have Skills
Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Technology with
10+ years
of industry experience (or
15+ years
without a degree). Proven track record as a Project Engineer/Manager on small capital and expense projects in an operating facility or pipeline environment. Proficiency in
Microsoft Project
and the full Microsoft Office suite. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and fabrication drawings. Strong understanding of relevant codes and standards (ANSI B31.3, ASME Section VIII, API, IEC, NACE, NEC, NFPA). Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Nice-to-Have
Mechanical/Piping or Instrumentation & Controls experience. Natural gas distribution/transmission, custody transfer meter station, or gas storage facility experience. Familiarity with B31.8 pipeline, DOT, PHMSA, and FERC regulations. Field commissioning and startup planning/execution experience.
