The Team
We are seeking a Senior Manager Health & Safety to drive the implementation and execution of Health & Safety (H&S) programs within a defined market or sub-region. Reporting to the Director, H&S Program Administration, this role serves as an essential partner in ensuring consistent adherence to H&S policies, procedures, and compliance tracking. The Senior Manager plays a hands-on role in facilitating site safety, supporting training and audits, enabling compliance with local regulatory requirements, and driving a culture of safety among employees, contractors, and visitors. This role works cross-functionally with local teams and acts as a key execution partner for the global H&S function. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to execute administrative processes in a fast-paced operational environment.
Responsibilities
What You Can Offer Us Communicate and reinforce global and local H&S policies, procedures, and expectations to employees, vendors, and stakeholders across the assigned market. Drive the execution of the Safety Management System (SMS) at the local level, including documentation control, compliance tracking, and audit readiness. Oversee the identification, assessment, and reporting of local operational health and safety risks to senior leadership and governance bodies. Provide leadership in emergency preparedness and crisis response, including availability outside of normal working hours when required. Represent the company in regulatory forums and engage with external stakeholders to influence and interpret health and safety legislation. Report regularly to leadership on health and safety performance, compliance status, and strategic risk mitigation efforts. Maintain accurate H&S documentation, including training records, compliance certifications, incident reports, and site safety plans. Manage the health and safety budget, including forecasting, tracking expenditures, and ensuring cost-effective program delivery. Support onboarding of contractors and visitors by coordinating site access requirements and verifying safety compliance. Facilitate and track the delivery of mandatory safety training, including ergonomics, occupational hazards, emergency response, and leadership safety programs. Assist with coordination of local Fit-for-Duty and Return-to-Work assessments in partnership with HR and healthcare providers. Monitor compliance with remote work health and safety requirements, including applicable local regulatory guidelines. Support the scheduling and execution of site safety audits, drills, inspections, and post-incident investigations. Coordinate internal communication efforts around safety procedures, reporting mechanisms, and compliance updates. Track and report on safety metrics such as near-miss submissions, incident rates, training completion, and vendor compliance. Maintain and update systems for incident reporting, corrective actions, and risk tracking in alignment with corporate platforms. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support risk mitigation efforts and follow-up on identified safety issues. Prepare local reports and summaries to support regional reviews and ensure transparency of H&S performance. Integrate sustainability considerations into health and safety programs and report on related performance indicators. Facilitate the distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE) to employees and contractors, and ensure appropriate usage in accordance with company protocols. Perform other duties as assigned to support the health and safety of the workforce and the integrity of operations within the assigned market. Qualifications
What You Need to Succeed
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience may be considered. Minimum of 8 years of experience in safety administration, operations coordination, or regulatory compliance support required. Familiarity with health and safety regulations and standards, including OSHA, ISO 45001, or equivalent local requirements. Experience supporting the implementation of safety programs, including training, audits, documentation, and vendor coordination. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities simultaneously. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage diverse teams and document safety-related information accurately. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience using H&S management or incident tracking systems. Ability to maintain composure and sound judgment in urgent or high-pressure safety scenarios. Experience working in construction, infrastructure, telecommunications, or similar operational environments preferred. Approximately 20-25% travel may be required within the assigned market to support site audits, training, and incident response.
