Overview
High Precision Devices, a FormFactor, Inc. company — Boulder, CO. We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our Boulder Operations team in supporting the manufacturing of our Quantum Cryogenic product portfolio. This position will oversee all technical aspects of system manufacturing and test, leading a team to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure product quality.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a manufacturing engineering team while planning, scheduling, and directing daily activities and priorities.
- Oversee system builds from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Analyze and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify and address inefficiencies.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all manufacturing processes.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen to reduce waste, increase efficiency, and improve overall operational performance.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement new equipment, automation, and technologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
- Collaborate with other teams to plan and complete system installation at customer sites.
- Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for production and quality issues.
- Develop and manage the departmental and project-specific capital budgets.
- Collaborate with other teams and quality to resolve supplier and customer issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a manufacturing engineering role.
- Proven experience leading Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma projects. Certification for Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, including assembly, machining, test, and automation. Relevant experience in supporting the manufacture of complex electromechanical systems is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate and improve complex systems.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software and other analytical and engineering tools.
- Ability to thrive in a high-paced, dynamic, team environment while managing multiple projects and priorities.
Work Environment
- This position operates in an office and laboratory setting. The ability to lift equipment or components up to 25 lbs is required. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
- Travel up to 15% of the time is possible.
