Responsibilities

• Deliver care to 4-6 patients per shift
• Administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, and chart with timely documentation
• Collaborate with social work, care coordination, physical therapy, occupational therapy, lab, respiratory therapy and imaging to care for cancer patients
• Specialty: Liquid and solid tumors, hematology floor, with multiple blood transfusions in one shift, chemotherapy; strong IV skills; clinical judgment and assessment skills for oncologic emergencies; oncology-certified nurses (OCN) and related capacities

Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) trained for biochemotherapy infusions; RN IIIs & RN IVs engaged in shared governance across hospital-based practice councils.

Qualifications

• Degree in Nursing from an accredited program (college or university)
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) within 2 years from date of hire
• At least 1 year of RN experience
• Active Registered Nurse license in good standing with the Texas Board of Nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
