ER RN Job Details – Potsdam, NY

• Location: Potsdam, NY 13676 (Northern New York healthcare jobs)
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract (September 2, 2025 – December 2, 2025)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 – 07:15), 36 or 48 hours per week
• Standard Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,090 - $2,150
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (2 weekends per 4-week schedule)
• Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Healthcare Setting: Level III Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center
• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
  
  

ER Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license (required at time of application)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room RN experience
• Experience with EPIC charting system
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC (CPI and TCAR preferred)
• Willingness to float as needed within the hospital
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility (travel nursing eligibility)
• Experience providing emergency care to both adult and pediatric patients
• First-time travel nurses are encouraged to apply!
  
  

Emergency Room RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatric patients
• Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, trauma, stroke, and behavioral health emergencies
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias, administer blood products, and care for ventilated patients
• Perform phlebotomy, initiate IVs, and manage central lines
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response
• Utilize EPIC for electronic documentation and Pyxis for medication management
• Identify and report abuse, and respond to trauma, burns, and infectious disease emergencies
• Participate in ongoing education and complete all required modules prior to assignment start
