Overview

Adult and pediatric burn trauma surgical ICU RN. Primary RN Care model. Nursing care ratios 1:2 for critical care patients. 1:1 nursing care support for burn trauma code 1 admissions and high acuity and post-operative patients. Needs include invasive hemodynamic monitoring (at least hourly), IV drip titration, nurse driven burn fluid resuscitation following Parkland formula, ventilator management, CVVH, hourly pulse and flap Doppler checks, initial debridement and dressing changes, conscious sedation, surgical recovery, and epidural pumps.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for adult and pediatric burn trauma surgical ICU patients within a primary RN care model.
• Monitor invasive hemodynamics and titrate IV drips per orders; perform burn fluid resuscitation following Parkland formula.
• Manage ventilators and CVVH as needed.
• Conduct hourly assessments including pulse and flap Doppler checks.
• Assist with initial debridement and dressing changes, conscious sedation, surgical recovery, and epidural pump management.
