Job Description: RN - ICU (Intensive Care Unit)

Location: Poughkeepsie, New York

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ICU RN will provide high-level care to critically ill patients, ensuring their safety and comfort while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to achieve the best outcomes. The ideal candidate has a strong background in critical care nursing, thrives in high-pressure situations, and demonstrates exceptional clinical and interpersonal skills.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment and Monitoring: Perform comprehensive assessments, monitor vital signs, and manage life-support equipment for critically ill patients.
• Care Coordination: Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Medication Administration: Administer medications, including intravenous drugs, and monitor patient responses to ensure safe and effective treatment.
• Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies, providing life-saving interventions and ensuring adherence to hospital protocols.
• Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR) and adhere to hospital and regulatory standards.
  
  

Job Requirements

• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Licensure and Certification:
• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required (American Heart Association).
• Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience.
• Experience with critical care equipment and techniques is essential.
• Skills: Strong clinical judgment, ability to work under pressure, and excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Schedule and Availability: Must be flexible to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required.
