PCU RN Details

• Location: Hermitage, TN 37076 (Greater Nashville area)
• Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Observation Unit
• Number of Beds: 25
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/20/2025 – End: 1/19/2026)
• Patient Ratios: 5:1 (nights)
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Equipment: Alaris Pumps, tele-tracking, Imobile Communication, B450 Monitors, Pyxis
• Awards: Daisy Award for Nurses, BEE Award for Techs, High Fives for Employees
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1640 - $1680

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (Tennessee or compact state)
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, Progressive Care, or acute care nursing experience
• BLS certification (required)
• ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and EKG rhythm certification (required)
• Neuro and cardiac nursing experience preferred
• Ability to float on a rotating system to meet hospital needs
• Dress code: Black scrubs (RN), closed-toed shoes

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care in the Observation/Progressive Care Unit
• Triage acute care patients and promptly identify life-threatening cardiac rhythms
• Perform essential nursing procedures: glucose monitoring, Foley catheter insertion, dressing changes, EKGs, and peritoneal dialysis
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team including RNs, techs, and unit secretaries
• Utilize advanced healthcare technology and Meditech documentation systems to ensure accurate patient records
• Promote a positive patient experience and contribute to a collaborative nursing team environment
