RN - Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) – Location: Los Alamos, NM • Facility Type: Hospital • Schedule: Full-Time | Shift Type: Days

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated RN to join our partner's PACU team at a community hospital in Los Alamos, NM. This role is ideal for a compassionate nurse committed to providing direct patient care using the nursing process in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities and qualifications are listed below.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Perform plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Document patient care given and monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and work as an advocate for their physical and emotional well-being.

• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluate learning needs of the patient and/or family and provide appropriate education.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Current NM RN license or appropriate RN compact licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications, current upon hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)/Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification to be obtained within six months of hire.
• Strong critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.

Preferred

• Experience in a post-anesthesia care or critical care setting.
