Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled PACU RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Marrero, Louisiana. The role involves providing specialized care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgery, coordinating post-operative care, and ensuring patient safety and comfort in the PACU.

Requirements

• One year of recent experience as a PACU RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification
• ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification

Preferred Qualifications

• PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certifications
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

Responsibilities

• Receive and conduct comprehensive assessments of patients transferring from the operating room and assess their post-anesthesia condition
• Monitor and evaluate patient vital signs, level of consciousness, and recovery from anesthesia
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to post-anesthesia nursing techniques
• Maintain awareness of comfort and safety needs of recovering patients
• Document patient conditions, treatments, and significant incidents; respond to anesthesia and treatments, and notify the care team of changes
• Respond promptly to emergencies using PACU standards, policies, and protocols
• Document assessments, interventions, and recovery progress in medical records
• Develop and deliver individualized patient and family education plans, including discharge instructions
• Collaborate with the surgical team and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive post-operative care
• Participate in patient handoffs to ensure continuity of care
• Operate and monitor PACU equipment (ventilators, monitors, infusion pumps)
• Perform other duties within the scope of practice
