Position: Correctional Nurse Practitioner
Location: Lebanon, OH 45036
Shift : Standard Shift
Duration: Minimum 3 months (Full-time, 40 hours/week)
Job Responsibilities:
• Monitor and manage chronic illnesses using relevant correctional healthcare policies and protocols.
• Administer vaccinations, prescribe medications, and treat acute and chronic patients; perform minor surgeries as trained and competent.
• Conduct routine physical exams to assess control/status of chronic conditions and diagnose new health issues.
• Evaluate and approve specialty referrals within or outside the institution; review consult reports and make recommendations.
• Order and interpret laboratory, x-ray, and other diagnostic tests.
• Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to complete medical reclassifications and requests for non-formulary medications.
• Provide routine and emergency medical care as scheduled.
• Examine, diagnose, and treat patients within the scope of practice defined by the Ohio Nursing Board.
• Conduct rounds on infirmary patients as directed by the CMO.
• Document all patient assessments, diagnostic impressions, treatment plans, and follow-ups per applicable correctional healthcare guidelines and standards.
• Work cooperatively with CMO for medical quality oversight, accepting feedback and guidance.
