Mission Alignment Our Athletic Trainer will play a vital role in advancing Uplift’s mission: To create and sustain public schools of excellence that empower each student to reach their highest potential in college and the global marketplace and that inspire in students a life-long love of learning, achievement, and service in order to positively change their world .

Primary Purpose Partnering with coaches and medical professionals, the Athletic Trainer will assess athlete health, design fitness, nutrition, and treatment plans, and guide recovery. You’ll be instrumental in helping athletes, coaches, and families realize their full potential, especially as we break new ground with tackle football.

Key Responsibilities: Injury Prevention & Assessment : Design and implement proactive training to minimize injuries; conduct physical screenings and vulnerability assessments. Treatment & Rehabilitation : Provide immediate care, develop tailored rehab programs, and oversee athlete recovery using therapeutic methods (e.g., taping, bracing, equipment fitting). Collaborative Communication : Maintain open lines with coaches, families, athletes, and medical staff. Educate on wellness, nutrition, and technique, and coordinate referrals when needed. Administrative : Document evaluations and treatment plans; manage supply inventory; ensure compliance with applicable standards and recordkeeping.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements You’ll work indoors and outdoors—from gym floors to athletic fields—across various weather conditions. Expect frequent movement, including walking, kneeling, and lifting (15–44 lbs). Manual dexterity is required for equipment use, and you’ll often work extended or irregular hours under pressure.

Starting Salary:

$65,000

Qualifications: Education : Bachelor’s in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or related (Master’s preferred) Experience : 3–5 years as an Athletic Trainer at the high school, collegiate, or professional level Certifications : BOC certification, Texas licensure (or eligible), CPR/AED/First Aid current certification Skills : Strong communicator, highly organized, collaborative mindset, ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment Preferred : Bilingual (Spanish); proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
