Administrative Assistant - Stony Brook Psychiatric Associates, UFPC

Location Stony Brook, NY

Schedule Full Time

Days/Hours Monday - Friday; 830 AM - 5 PM

Pay $21.92 - $27.40

SUMMARY This position requires the incumbent to provide administrative support to the Practice. This position is essential to ensure efficient operation of the office. You will support managers and employees through a variety of tasks related to organization and communication within and outside the department.

Job Duties & Essential Functions

  • Assists in the overall operation of the office.
  • Answer patient calls and process Cerner pre-registration forms
  • Assist in handling consults/referrals from other departments
  • Answers telephone calls and takes and routes messages.
  • Interfaces with providers and patients.
  • File mental health and administrative correspondence for the MBCRC
  • Obtain records as needed
  • Coordinate scheduling and maintenance of group psychotherapy programs
  • Aid in the coordination of providers schedules including tracking patient volumes
  • Assist providers in group psychotherapy programs
  • Aid in the collection, monitoring and analysis of patient data
  • Update and maintain databases.
  • Support clinical projects and quality improvement initiatives
  • All other duties as assigned.


Required Education & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Three years Administrative/Clerical experience.
  • Must have excellent expressive and written communication skills.
  • Must be highly organized.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Administrative Assistant experience in a healthcare setting.


Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with patients, staff and medical providers. The employee must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. This position is largely sedentary and requires the employee to remain stationary for a majority of the day. Any additional physical demands will be outlined and provided by management.
