Shift Leads assess the needs of patients, educate/guidance on selecting appropriate cannabis products, and embody a customer-first approach to ensure high levels of satisfaction. A Shift Lead elevates company standards, helps achieve sales goals, provides product recommendations, and strives to exceed patient expectations. The Shift Lead is responsible for opening and closing duties within the dispensary, communicating product and policy updates to Budtenders, and supporting Managers by fostering an environment of learning and continued education. They maintain accurate records of customer identification and registration documents, manage customer traffic flow, respond to inquiries, and assist in recording, arranging, packaging, and selling customer orders. The ideal candidate maintains a professional appearance and organized work environment and facility appearance. Responsibilities

Maintain strict inventory controls to ensure regulatory compliance across dispensary operations. Ensure POS stations are clean, stocked, and ready at store opening. Complete Budtender opening and closing checklists in a timely manner. Maintain proper cash handling procedures. Greet customers on arrival and farewell them upon departure; provide excellent customer service in every interaction. Inform management of any low-stock or inventory issues. Have comprehensive knowledge of cannabis products, industry trends, and relevant subject matter. Be knowledgeable of sales and promotions, including in-store deals. Participate in staff events, outings, and promotional events. Read industry publications to stay up to date on trends. Provide in-store new-hire training and mentorship to incoming Budtenders with guidance from Management. Maintain a clean uniform and prepared appearance for scheduled shifts. Perform other duties or projects as assigned by managers. Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. 1+ year of customer service experience; preference for cannabis-related or specialty retail experience in a customer-facing role. Consistent demonstration of excellent customer service skills. Previous experience with POS systems. Desire to learn about cannabis, cannabinoids and the endocannabinoid system; prior knowledge preferred. Strong listening and communication skills (verbal and written). Proficiency with standard office equipment and software (word processing, databases, spreadsheets, email). Understanding of applicable laws and regulations related to the cannabis industry, safety, and company policies. Additional Requirements

Must be 21 years or older. Remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the cannabis industry. Working Conditions & Physical Demands

Regularly required to grasp, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions. Must be able to lift/carry up to 30 pounds (100 pounds with assistance); may involve standing or sitting for extended periods and bending or stooping as needed. Equal Employment Opportunity
