Warehouse Picker Job at Pitt Plastics, Inc. in Frontenac

Overview

Title: Level 1 Warehouse Picker

Shift: 4pm to 12:30am

Pay: Starting at $15.00 per hour with a $2.00 per hour shift bonus

The role is to efficiently and accurately select and retrieve items from inventory for shipment or production use, ensuring correct products are picked, packed, and prepared for distribution to support warehouse operations and meet customer demands.

Responsibilities

• Complies with, monitors, and enforces all written and verbal safety regulations and programs of the plant and department.
• Pass all required training to safely operate forklift and load hogs.
• Understand and adhere to plant policies and procedures.
• Process work orders, document number of units handled, interpret verbal instructions to determine tasks, and transmit data for invoicing.
• Promptly and accurately pick customer orders while preparing them for shipment through pallet addressing, labeling, and wrapping.
• Stage finished product in proper locations within the warehouse or load the finished product onto the truck.
• Move freight, stock, and other materials to and from storage and production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, and containers by hand or using electric pallet trucks, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Install protective devices to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Legal eligibility to work in the US
• Previous work experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred and includes knowledge of production processes, quality control, and use of Warehouse Location Management Systems
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with all levels of personnel
• Proficiency in reading and writing English
• Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude for machines used in the production process
• Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary
• Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions

Work Environment

• The warehouse is not climate controlled. Must be able to work in environments that can be extremely hot, humid in the summer, and cold in the winter.
