Position Summary

The Recruiter is responsible for managing the entire recruitment process, from posting job openings and screening applicants to onboarding new hires. This role will utilize both traditional and innovative sourcing methods, including strong LinkedIn sourcing strategies, to attract candidates both internally and externally. Success in this role requires a true headhunter mentality, proactively identifying, engaging, and securing top talent in the highly competitive heavy civil construction market.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with and actively promote all Safety policies and procedures, reporting accidents, incidents, and near-misses to ensure adherence to the company’s core value of “Safety first.”
  • Develop and implement the company’s recruitment strategy to meet staffing needs across heavy civil operations.
  • Partner with hiring managers and HR leadership to deeply understand workforce requirements and anticipate future needs.
  • Source candidates using advanced LinkedIn Recruiter tools, InMail campaigns, Boolean search techniques, competitive mapping, and targeted networking to build a robust pipeline of active and passive talent.
  • Demonstrate a headhunter mindset by aggressively pursuing hard-to-find candidates and creatively overcoming recruiting challenges.
  • Screen resumes, interview candidates (via phone or in person), administer assessments, conduct reference/background checks, and make recommendations for hire.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure staffing requirements are met.
  • Communicate benefits and compensation information to candidates during the offer process.
  • Representing the company at career fairs, industry networking events, and community outreach programs to attract high-quality candidates.
  • Develop and implement advertising campaigns to enhance the company’s visibility and attract a large volume of potential candidates.
  • Manage and maintain the application/resume database in accordance with company policies.
  • Conduct periodic candidate check-ins and follow-ups to ensure smooth transitions into the company.
  • Perform hiring and onboarding duties with professionalism and attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2–5 years of experience in recruitment or staffing, preferably in construction or heavy civil industries.
  • Demonstrated expertise in LinkedIn sourcing, with proven success in building pipelines, engaging passive candidates, and converting outreach into successful hires.
  • A headhunter mentality with the drive to track, pursue, and secure top talent in competitive markets.
  • Willingness to travel domestically as necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and multitasking abilities.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in social media with the ability to initiate and manage social media recruiting campaigns.
  • This is an in-person position based in Littleton, MA. Candidates must have the ability to commute to the office Monday through Friday. This is not a remote position.
