Consult with clients on conceptualization and design of buildings with a view to develop plans describing design specifications to include performing feasibility assessments for design projects using engineering principles as it relates to construction materials and building systems and design processes. Provide detailed design, product coordination and site inspection of large-scale projects, more than 1 million sq. ft. in gross floor area. Responsible for overseeing and planning large and complex architectural projects with gross floor area of 1 million sq. ft. requiring the collaboration of multiple disciplines including civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, etc. Assist in feasibility assessments for design projects. Prepares strategic plans for project success. Serves as the primary liaison contact with clients to complete projects on schedule, within budget, and with maximum client satisfaction. Identify project risks to the client and develop risk mitigation strategies. Monitor Project Progress, manage issues that arise, and report project status to the Principal. Team-oriented and capable of leading and managing large multi-disciplinary teams of 10+ employees internally, client relationships and including managing numerous international consultant firms. Responsible for coordination of all project efforts, administrative and technical, to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects. Selects, evaluates, and implements architectural procedures and techniques used to complete all phases of projects. Use of Revit production and Revit Coordination skills managing large multi-disciplinary project teams of 10+ employees using a shared Revit model for project to include answer Revit questions, advise on best modelling practices, general troubleshooting, assembling issuance packages, granting access, etc. Will lead and coordinate a cross disciplinary team to ensure that the project requirements, deliverables, compliance to authorities/regulations having jurisdiction and deadlines for all phases of work are maintained. Supervise, guide the work & manage subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their work. Manage QA/QC throughout the life of a project with an emphasis on technical excellence, constructability, and value engineering. Ensure projects adhere to industry standards, methodologies and all application codes. Conduct client meetings and construction observation and prepare documentation to include the use of Revit, Bluebeam, Microstation, Naviswork, Rhino, Autocad, MS Office, Newforma, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite tools. Will travel 5% US and/or intl to meet with current clients.
Requires a Masters degree or foreign educ. equiv. in Architecture. FL Architect License and six (6) years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelors degree or foreign educ. equiv. in Architecture, FL Architect License and eight (8) years of post-degree, progressive experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Experience must have included at least six (6) years in each of the following: Performing feasibility assessments for design projects using engineering principles as it relates to construction materials and building systems and design processes; Project management of at least 1 million sq. ft. projects; Using Revit production and Revit Coordination skills managing large multi-disciplinary project teams of 10+ employees using a shared Revit model; Working in all phases of design on large scale Commercial architectural projects of more than 1M sq ft gross area; Relationship management with clients, local authorities and collaborating project teams; and Use of tools including Revit, Bluebeam, Microstation, Naviswork, Rhino, Autocad, MS Office, Newforma, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite.
