Physical Medicine and Rehab Physician / Physiatrist New York, Bronx, NY
We are looking for a dynamic, motivated Physical Medicine and Rehab Physician (PM&R)/ Physiatrist to join our practices in Bushwick and Rego Park areas of NY. The incoming physician will be examining patients and diagnosing pain because of an injury, disease, or a disabling condition alongside a supportive team with PA/NPs. We are looking for someone who can treat the patient from start to finish, handling every aspect of patient care with recommendations and treating patients from first visit/examination until the patients finish treatment. This position will require travel between our offices in Bushwick (Brooklyn) and Rego Park (Queens).
Duties: Examining patients and Diagnosing pain because of an injury, disease, or a disabling condition. (Documents ranges of motion with a handheld goniometer) Determining and implementing appropriate treatment plans for patients. Recommending and performing various medical procedures, such as trigger point injections, soft tissue, and joint injections to treat pain and improve physical functioning. Leading a team of medical professionals, including physical therapists, to optimize patient care. Monitoring ongoing progress and health of patients, and changing treatment plans, as necessary. Performs or monitors the performance of electrodiagnostic testing (EMG NCV). Counseling patients and their families and helping them adapt to lifestyle changes. Orders clinically appropriate testing such as X-rays, Cat Scans Ultrasounds and MRIs. Recommends consultation with orthopedists, neurologist, psychologists, spine specialists and pain management. Performing initial evaluations to determine a patients need and ability to participate in the rehabilitation process. Conducting periodic re-evaluations of patients to determine progress and for change or discontinuance of treatment. Prescribes appropriate orthotic devices as clinically indicated. Checks for proper fitting of such devices. Keeps complete medical records of all services provided and the patients progress. Lead a team of PTs, PTAs and monitor their job performance based on patient care Requirements: MD/DO licensed in NY Board-Certified or Board-Eligible with American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR) Schedule: Full time Will require travel between Bushwick (Brooklyn) and Rego Park (Queens) Salary: $300k-$350k per year plus productivity bonus (Depending on experience and training/ability to perform procedures) Benefits: Productivity Bonus Health Insurance Retirement plan CME and license fees reimbursement PTO/Paid Holidays 100% outpatient No call We are looking for a Physician to provide direct patient care within our medical office and can effectively communicate with patients, who enjoys working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and administrative staff.
