Position Summary

The Senior Fuel Service Technician is responsible for the installation, availability, maintenance, repair, and compliance of fuel dispensing equipment, underground storage tanks (USTs), and related systems across multiple retail fueling locations. This senior-level role serves as a technical lead, ensuring fueling systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental and regulatory standards.Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Safety
Provide professional, customer-facing service while resolving issues and ensuring a positive experience. Always prioritize safety and comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Technical Maintenance & Repair
Perform advanced diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs on fuel dispensers, USTs, leak detection systems, vapor recovery units, tank monitors, and POS systems. Troubleshoot and repair both electronic and mechanical components (e.g., Gilbarco; Veeder-Root monitors; Verifone POS systems). Lead or assist with installation and upgrades of fueling systems and associated technology. Respond to high-priority or emergency calls, including after-hours on-call rotation.

Operational Duties

Utilize the maintenance work order system to complete, update, and close repair calls by deadlines. Maintain, stock, and account for van inventory; requisition and track non-stock parts. Keep service vehicle clean, organized, and safe; ensure timely maintenance and repairs of the vehicle. Perform factory-authorized modifications per manufacturer specifications. Requirements

Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 7 years experience in fuel system maintenance, repair, and installation in retail, C-store, or commercial environments. 7 10 years combined electrical/mechanical experience. In-depth knowledge of petroleum systems (USTs, dispensers, sensors, alarms, leak detection, vapor recovery). Familiarity with Gilbarco, Veeder-Root, Red Jacket, Verifone, and FE Petro systems.

Certifications & Skills
Valid drivers license with insurability. VASC certification and relevant manufacturer certifications preferred. Ability to read schematics and technical manuals. Basic computer and networking knowledge, including POS and IP networking. Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and computer systems. Self-starter with ability to work independently and travel locally (no overnight travel).

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 25 lbs routinely and up to 75 100 lbs occasionally. Walk, bend, stoop, squat, push, pull, and climb as required. Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. Ability to climb ladders, use bucket trucks, and work at heights. Must pass drug screening. Expected to work no less than 40 hours per week with daily local travel and on-call availability.
