The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing daily warehouse operations to ensure efficient and accurate receipt, storage, and distribution of goods. This role involves supervising a team of warehouse associates, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and implementing process improvements to enhance operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive warehouse management experience, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead a team of warehouse associates, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing training and development.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate objectives, address concerns, and promote a positive working environment.
  • Manage scheduling and timekeeping to ensure adequate staffing levels and coverage.
  • Oversee the receipt, inspection, and storage of incoming goods, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company standards.
  • Supervise order picking, packing, and shipping processes to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
  • Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all warehouse activities.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and reconciliations.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with inventory control to address any discrepancies or inventory-related issues.
  • Manage the organization and labeling of warehouse inventory to optimize space and accessibility.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Analyze warehouse performance metrics and develop strategies to address any areas of concern or inefficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and training to promote a safe working environment and reduce the risk of accidents.
  • Address and resolve any safety or compliance issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipping, receiving, inventory, and other warehouse activities.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on warehouse performance, including key metrics, issues, and improvements.
  • Ensure proper documentation for all inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve any issues related to inventory, orders, or shipments.
  • Address and resolve any customer or vendor concerns related to warehouse operations in a professional manner.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree or relevant certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of warehouse management systems and inventory control.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other teams.
  • Proficiency in safety and compliance regulations related to warehouse operations.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
  • Operating warehouse equipment safely and effectively, including forklifts and pallet jacks (training may be provided).
