Overview
Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility, which is based in Lewes, DE 19958. This is a contract job with a possible extension opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization. Base pay range is listed as part of this posting. Schedule and pay are described below, with compensation based on skills and experience.
Pay and Schedule
Base pay range: $17.00/hr - $19.00/hr
Schedule: Mon-Fri 6:30 am-2:00 pm (40 hrs/week)
Pay notes:Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials. The rate is based on years of DIRECT EXPERIENCE as listed in the resume.
Responsibilities
- Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
- Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
- Explain clearly and politely the process of venipuncture (blood drawing) and/or other specimen collection (e.g., urine or fecal) as required.
- Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
- Understand all physician orders and match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
- Check all test requisitions or computer labels against the script to ensure accuracy.
- Package specimens for transport.
- Store specimens according to the required temperature.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience required.
