The Plant Simulation Engineer will play a pivotal role in advancing our manufacturing capabilities by leveraging plant simulation methodologies to optimize and streamline operational processes. This position involves designing, developing, and implementing simulation models that accurately represent our manufacturing environment. The primary objective is to utilize plant simulation to analyze various production scenarios, identify inefficiencies, and facilitate data-driven decisions that enhance throughput and reduce costs.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams—including engineering, operations, and planning—is essential to conducting thorough analyses leading to actionable insights. The engineer will ensure that simulation practices are consistently applied across the organization, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and employing state-of-the-art simulation tools to effectively respond to fluctuating market demands.

Additionally, the Plant Simulation Engineer will work to establish a comprehensive strategy for deploying and scaling plant simulation technology across the AERO organization. This structured approach will ensure consistent application and effectiveness of simulation tools rolled out across different sites and departments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and validate simulation models for operational processes using plant simulation methodologies.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, and planning) to identify and address capacity constraints and process inefficiencies.

Conduct time studies, GEMBA assessments, and other process analysis techniques to gather input data for simulation models.

Monitor and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of implemented solutions.

Create a consistent deployment strategy for plant simulation technologies across multiple sites.

Work with stakeholders to ensure effective scaling of plant simulation technology throughout the AERO organization.

Participate in strategy discussions and collaborate with the technology council to align plant simulation initiatives with organizational goals.

Focus on advancing plant simulation capabilities through integration with factory digital twin systems and AI & machine learning processes.

Provide training and support to staff on simulation tools and methodologies.

Contribute to project management efforts, ensuring milestones are met, and projects are executed within scope and budget.

Engage in knowledge transfer by mentoring junior engineers in simulation practices.

Utilize advanced core processes for project management, including budget management and resources allocation.

The annual base salary range for this position is $104,000 - $130,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have asylum or refugee status in the U.S.

YOU MUST HAVE

Proven experience in automation engineering within the manufacturing space.

Experience with programming languages such as Python, C++, or similar.

Experience with simulation software (e.g., AnyLogic, Siemens Plant Simulation)

Proven track record in process optimization and manufacturing engineering, understanding the principles and concepts of manufacturing technology project management.

Familiarity with plant simulation methodologies, automated data pulling, and AI/ML data integration desired.

Understanding of security and compliance measures related to data management.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, along with mastery of standard processes and procedures.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, demonstrating leadership in cross-functional environments.

Understanding business metrics, ROI, and cost performance engineering in relation to simulation outcomes.

Ability to utilize standard and advanced project management processes and principles, adapting software as required.

WE VALUE

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.

5+ years of experience in automation engineering.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and drive results. Previous experience in aerospace or manufacturing environments.

Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar.

Familiarity with IT landscapes, cloud services, and hybrid scalability solutions.

Experience in training or mentoring roles within a technical environment.
