Position: Phlebotomy Lab Assistant I - White Memorial
Location: White Memorial Hospital
Shift: PRN Monday - Friday between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm, based on department need.
Responsibilities
- Provide general laboratory services including specimen collection via routine venipuncture, order entry, blood component preparation, and specimen receipt.
- Perform waived testing and pre-analytic processing of specimens; manage related clerical tasks such as entering orders, verifying specimen validity, answering phone calls, and handling faxes.
- Assist with patient and specimen registration and delivery of specimens as needed.
- Utilize strong customer service skills, maintain attention to detail, stay organized, and demonstrate basic computer skills.
- Collaborate as part of a team to support the department’s essential functions.
Qualifications
- Requires high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Completion of a phlebotomy training program; laboratory experience or coursework in biological/chemical sciences preferred.
- May require a valid Indiana Operators license and a good driving history for the last three years; knowledge of Indiana traffic laws may be needed.
- Proven computer literacy and proficient telephone skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods.
