Position: Phlebotomy Lab Assistant I - White Memorial

Location: White Memorial Hospital

Shift: PRN Monday - Friday between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm, based on department need.

Responsibilities

• Provide general laboratory services including specimen collection via routine venipuncture, order entry, blood component preparation, and specimen receipt.
• Perform waived testing and pre-analytic processing of specimens; manage related clerical tasks such as entering orders, verifying specimen validity, answering phone calls, and handling faxes.
• Assist with patient and specimen registration and delivery of specimens as needed.
• Utilize strong customer service skills, maintain attention to detail, stay organized, and demonstrate basic computer skills.
• Collaborate as part of a team to support the department’s essential functions.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program; laboratory experience or coursework in biological/chemical sciences preferred.
• May require a valid Indiana Operators license and a good driving history for the last three years; knowledge of Indiana traffic laws may be needed.
• Proven computer literacy and proficient telephone skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods.
