Location: Jefferson City, MO. Base pay range: $15.00/hr - $16.50/hr. This range is provided by Missouri Farm Bureau. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.
What You’ll Do
As a Claims Administrative Assistant or Senior Claims Administrative Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the operations of our Claims Department. You’ll work with both Home Office and field staff to ensure timely and accurate administrative assistance that contributes to the smooth processing of claims and superior service delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide daily administrative support to Claims Supervisors and Litigation Counsel, including preparing correspondence, transcribing statements, and issuing payments.
- Assist Home Office and Field Staff by imaging documents, downloading audio files, submitting police report requests, and maintaining claim file records.
- Manage the vendor system by ensuring accurate W-9 forms, reviewing 1099s, and working with tax-related communications.
- Handle departmental mail distribution and document imaging.
- Review claim drafts for proper endorsement and prepare Letters of Experience as requested.
- Issue payments for recurring vendor invoices and manage E-Subrogation Hub notices.
- Coordinate office supply orders and printer inventories for the department.
- Assist with storm claims response and contribute to training of new personnel.
- Represent the department on the Active Call Directory (ACD) Group by handling inbound calls with professionalism and care.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required. For Senior level: three years of office experience, preferably within insurance or claims, or prior experience as a Claims Administrative Assistant.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort with learning internal claims-related software.
- Excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive, collaborative, and adaptable approach to work in a dynamic team environment.
- A customer-focused mindset and a commitment to professionalism.
Requirements to Succeed
- Ability to sit, stand, and use hands/fingers frequently; occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a moderate-noise office environment.
