Overview

Delivery Captain role at Walker's Marine - Marco Island (WMMI) responsible for the safe and timely delivery of marine vessels to customers and designated locations. Requires expert navigation and seamanship to operate various boats in diverse weather and sea conditions. Coordinates logistics, communicates with clients and team members, and maintains safety and professionalism throughout each delivery. Conducts pre-delivery inspections and ensures regulatory and company compliance. Serves as the face of Walker's Marine during deliveries, fostering customer satisfaction and trust through exceptional service and operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications

• Valid U.S. Coast Guard Captain\'s License (OUPV or Master License) appropriate for the size and type of vessels delivered.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience operating and delivering marine vessels in coastal and inland waters.
• Strong knowledge of maritime navigation, safety regulations, and vessel handling techniques.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screening as required by company policy.
• Valid driver\'s license and reliable transportation to and from Walker\'s Marine - Marco Island.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering a wide range of vessel types including powerboats, sailboats, and yachts.
• Familiarity with the Marco Island and surrounding Florida coastal waterways.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Experience with marine vessel maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and navigate marine vessels during delivery trips to various destinations, ensuring adherence to all maritime laws and safety protocols.
• Conduct thorough pre-delivery inspections of vessels to verify mechanical and safety systems are fully operational before departure.
• Coordinate delivery schedules and routes in collaboration with dispatch and customer service teams to optimize efficiency and meet customer expectations.
• Communicate proactively with customers to provide updates on delivery status, address any concerns, and ensure a positive delivery experience.
• Maintain detailed logs and reports of each delivery, including weather conditions, route taken, and any incidents or maintenance needs encountered.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on vessels as needed to ensure operational readiness during delivery.
• Adhere strictly to company policies, safety standards, and environmental regulations throughout all delivery operations.
