Job Summary
The shared services organization has a need for a strong Accountant to join the Accounts Payable team.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Use of PeopleSoft technology to perform daily Accounts Payable tasks, including maintaining vendor master files
- Support and conduct control testing in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
- Develop improved financial processes, reports, and information
- Understand IRS regulations to support the creation of 1099s and 1042s
- Identify opportunities to re-engineer systems and processes to improve Accounts Payable and the end-user experience
- Participate in special projects to enhance and/or improve technology
Minimum Education Requirements
- BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum Experience Requirements
- Accountant I: 0-2 years of experience in accounting
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of accounting controls, systems and processes
- Working knowledge of MS Office applications
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to effectively communicate
- Efficiently use knowledge of tools and business processes to identify problems and resolve issues
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
- Experience in Accounts Payable
