Overview

ZGF is seeking an Entry-Level Architect to join our team in our Portland, OR office. We are looking for creative, motivated, and curious design talent with a passion for architecture and the built environment. We are offering a position within the Architectural Group for an individual who will work under the direction of experienced professional design staff on a range of project opportunities. If you have a passion and a desire to exercise your design skills, we are interested in talking with you.

Responsibilities

• Be part of a community focused on design excellence and innovation.
• Collaborate with the design team for generating and developing design ideas.
• Work with team members from concept design through construction administration.
• Produce design drawings and construction documents, presentation drawings, graphic design work, and digital and physical modeling in support of Architecture, Urban Design, and Interior Design, as well as marketing efforts.
• Help tell the story of our projects through various media.
• Work under minimal supervision with instruction and mentoring regarding tasks and management.
• Perform fundamental architectural tasks and collaborate with others toward design solutions for projects.

Qualifications

• Professional experience is beneficial but not required – creative curiosity is required.
• Basic understanding of architectural design and construction principles.
• Architectural ability in the design of buildings and site.
• Experience with the production of design documentation would be valuable.
• A strong interest in graphic storytelling.
• Professional Architectural degree and 0–4 years of related experience.
• Proficiency with modeling in Revit.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and Rhino or other parametric design software.
• Good communication and graphic skills with physical and digital modeling and rendering ability.
