Job Title: Data Analyst / Data Engineer

Summary: We are seeking a skilled and proactive ETL Developer / Data Engineer to lead the migration of a complex Oracle database to Microsoft SQL Server. This role will also be responsible for enhancing and optimizing the data architecture, improving data flow and collection processes, and supporting analytics and business intelligence initiatives. The ideal candidate has deep experience with both Oracle and MS SQL databases, enjoys solving data challenges, and thrives in building scalable data solutions from the ground up.

Base pay range

$65.00/hr - $70.00/hr

Responsibilities

  • Lead the migration of a complex Oracle database to MS SQL Server.
  • Design, maintain, and enhance data architecture across new and existing systems, including data warehouses.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to ensure data quality, reliability, and performance.
  • Develop and maintain ETL pipelines using a variety of tools and technologies.
  • Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to architect data solutions that meet analytical and operational needs.
  • Conduct thorough ETL and data transformation testing from Oracle to SQL Server to ensure accuracy and integrity.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation including source-to-target mappings and data flow diagrams.

Required Experience

  • Proven experience developing data warehousing and ETL solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with data integration and transformation processes.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Four years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of advanced SQL development experience, including stored procedures and query optimization.
  • 5+ years of experience building data pipelines using ETL tools.
  • Strong proficiency in both Oracle and MS SQL Server, including indexing, performance tuning, and database security.
  • Solid understanding of data warehouse concepts and architecture.
  • Experience with data quality assessment, source system analysis, and business rule validation.
  • Ability to create and interpret source-to-target documentation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a meticulous approach to data management.
