About The Role
To serve 80,000-100,000 Fellows over the next decade, Braven is hiring an Associate, Data Analyst who will create and present data analysis that quantifies impact, drives program improvement, and informs strategic decisions. You will ensure data accuracy and reliability to produce analyses of program and organizational outcomes. You will partner with regional program and central teams to understand data trends and support decision-making. This role is on the Insights & Strategic Planning team and reports to the Head of Insights & Strategic Planning.
What You’ll Do
- Support data management and reporting — 30%
- Be an active participant in Braven scrums, owning and completing user stories related to data collection, collation, analysis, goals tracking, and reporting
- Support monitoring and reporting of program and organizational metrics and KPIs aligned with Braven’s priorities
- Perform statistical analysis of data; monitor data quality — 40%
- Use SQL, Python, Excel, and/or other tools to analyze data, identify patterns, and support data-informed decisions
- Design and manage systems to collect and collate data (e.g., survey coding, extracting data from sources)
- Troubleshoot and update datasets to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Articulate and present findings — 20%
- Create regular and ad-hoc analyses and reports for internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with regional program teams to understand data trends and implications for program execution and outcomes
- Other — 10%
- Lead and support additional projects to achieve evaluation and analysis priorities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS in quantitative field or equivalent experience in quantitative analysis
- At least 1 year in a quantitative or analytical role
- Proficiency in Excel and at least one of Python, SQL, or R
- Experience in mission-driven, nonprofit, education, or related sectors

- Ability to manage multiple projects independently and prioritize effectively
- Learner’s mindset to master new tools and ways of working
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work with others to solve problems
- Comfort in fast-paced, team-oriented environments
- Technical skills: Google Suite, Slack, Jira; BI tools (Tableau, Power BI or similar); Salesforce
- Alignment with Braven’s core values and mission

Benefits & Compensation
Braven offers competitive base salaries based on market midpoints for not-for-profit organizations of similar size, with salary growth over time. Salary offers are determined using benchmarking. Salary ranges by geography: Atlanta $54,000-$67,500; Chicago $56,900-$71,100; New York City $62,700-$78,300. This is a full-time, exempt, benefits-eligible position with 100% workload capacity. Benefits include:

Please note Braven’s compensation philosophy; only candidates whose total rewards expectations align with Braven’s package should apply. Location: Braven offices require in-person presence 3 days/week (Tue–Thu) with 2 remote days. You must live within commuting distance of Atlanta, Chicago, or NYC.
