Overview
In the Warehouse Supervisor role, you will be responsible for leading and supervising the day-to-day operations of the warehouse employees, maintaining positive employee relations, and supporting the Plant Manager/and management team.
Responsibilities
- Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations.
- Must be able to forecast, plan and make necessary workforce adjustments/recommendations to Warehouse Manager to align with production schedules.
- Coordinate all employee related breaks to assure appropriate warehouse coverage.
- Quality Management: Assure that the team operates consistently within the policies and procedures of VPET USA LLC.
- Develop team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach performance goals
- Safety Management: Ensures the safe, clean and efficient operation of the warehouse not limited to vehicles; maintaining an organized layout, safe work environment; staff are following GMPs and established warehouse rules; the warehouse premises, including both warehouse floors are clean.
- Work in conjunction with all other department leads/managers to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet production and shipping deadlines.
- Prepare various reports to include forklift inspection report, trailer inspection report, audit reports transfer log, or any other reports; verify and audit put away, pulled orders, receiving, and shipments; communicate with other leads, supervisors, and managers to ensure requirements are being met.
- Responsible for notifying the appropriate departments of any issues related to Warehouse, Maintenance, Quality, etc.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Education And/or Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be certified to operate a sit-down, counterbalance, reach truck and/or order picker.
- 2-5 years of experience in a supervisory role or a combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Software experience: SAP/ Batchmaster Systems or other warehouse operating system is a plus.
- Working knowledge of warehouse / mechanical equipment.
- Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT, FDA regulations and the willingness to become certified in one or more of these areas as necessary.
- Experience in the plastic bottle industry or in a manufacturing environment, is desired but not required.
Other Skills And Abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, identify, address problems and meet deadlines.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently in a fast paced environment with changing priorities.
- Computer skills to include Microsoft programs. Must be able to use computer programs to keep track of administrative tasks such as report writing, analysis of work orders, evaluations, etc.
- Must be able to communicate, read and write proficiently in English.
- Ability and availability to work irregular or extended hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Must be committed to the success of the entire organization.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
- Must be able to push, pull, twist, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crawl.
- May require repetitive motions such as reaching and grasping.
- Work environment is in a warehouse and temperatures inside vary between hot or cold based on the outside conditions.
- This is a fast paced environment with constantly changing priorities.
