Overview: Utilizes the Mercy Nursing Conceptual Framework and nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Qualifications
Education
Graduate of an accredited nursing program with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) Diploma in Nursing Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Licensure
Must hold and maintain a current
Registered Nurse (RN)
license in the state of employment Or possess a
compact license , per state board of nursing regulations Responsible for ensuring compliance with all licensure requirements Physical Requirements
Ability to push, pull, and lift up to
50 pounds
regularly Prolonged periods of
standing and walking
during each shift Must be able to
grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat
to perform job duties Certifications
Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (or completion within 30 days of hire)
May be required depending on unit/role: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) S.T.A.B.L.E. Program Certified Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurse (CPHON) Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) Fetal Monitoring Certification (C-EFM) Other unit-specific certifications as required
