Green Bay Dressed Beef, LLC is seeking individuals who are willing to complete a training period in order to become Production Supervisors in our fast-paced manufacturing facilities in Green Bay, WI.
Overview
Green Bay Dressed Beef, LLC is seeking individuals who are willing to complete a 12-18 month rotational intensive program that provides an introduction to beef processing and serves as a foundation throughout the employee’s career with Green Bay Dressed Beef, LLC. This is a hands-on position that is heavily engaged in day-to-day production activities, manufacturing millions of pounds of beef annually. Trainees will work with experienced employees to learn Harvest (Barn, Hide-On, Hide-Off, and Variety Meats), Fabrication (Boning and Packaging), and Quality Assurance (GMPs, HACCP, SQF, SOPs, SSOPs, etc.). The program is designed for self-motivated individuals who can work with little to no supervision. Relocation following successful completion is highly desirable. The trainee period generally takes 12-18 months to familiarize the employee with the business and prepare for management roles.
Production Supervisors are expected to effectively supervise assigned employees to efficiently produce a high-quality product. Further advancement depends on leadership, management ability, and capacity to assume greater responsibility.
Essential Functions
- Work in different departments alongside supervisors and employees to learn, understand and positively impact production operations.
- Accept delegated responsibilities and duties with the goal of eventually becoming a manager.
- Work with other managers to plan and direct the work of the organization.
- Evaluate work output.
- Use company reports to analyze efficiencies, profit and inventory activity.
- Identify trends and recommend proactive or remedial actions to manage business situations.
- Work with and through management to develop and implement actions that protect company assets and profitability or set policies and procedures.
- Train and develop management skills while leading and motivating others.
- Become certified on forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Supervise, direct, develop, and train employees within manufacturing.
- Interpret, apply, and enforce all company policies, programs, rules, regulations, and safety rules in support of safety, quality, and production goals.
- Ensure production and delivery of high-quality products in a timely manner to satisfy customers.
- Actively participate in employee safety and ensure workplace safety.
- Foster an environment conducive to continuous improvement.
- Attend presentations, meetings, and trainings and contribute projects or presentations as applicable.
- Interact with vendors, suppliers or customers.
- Individuals will spend the majority of the day on the production floor (85%+).
- Other related duties may be performed to meet organizational needs.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
- High school diploma or GED.
- 5 years of prior supervisory experience.
- Effective English communication (speak, read, and write).
- Post-high-school training or enrollment in an Associate or Bachelor’s degree program.
- Good math skills; ability to calculate yields, efficiencies, etc., with math assessment if required.
- Ability to travel to different plants or locations as needed.
- Willingness to work different shifts, weekends, and overtime.
- Ability to work in environments requiring PPE; facilities may have heat, cold, dust, noise, chemicals, and fast-paced equipment.
- Ability to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Willingness to relocate to any American Foods Group facility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AS400 or Kronos.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish or Hmong (speak, read, and write).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to manage production personnel and processes effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and influence others to solve problems.
- Strong computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities; ability to adapt to changing assignments.
- Strong verbal and written communication; ability to interface with customers and employees at all levels.
- Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
