Cybersecurity Analyst II

The Cybersecurity Analyst II is an individual contributor role focused on executing and supporting cybersecurity activities including network, email, endpoint, cloud, and advanced persistent threats. This role requires knowledge and experience in IT security to apply a solid understanding of concepts with practical application to projects such as new security applications, implementation of security tools, support for existing security tools, and security investigations.

Responsibilities

  1. Apply a strong knowledge of cybersecurity to all areas within the Eastman environment (security trends, cyber threats, insider risks, and security defenses).
  2. Monitor security log systems and triage alerts to identify cyber threats.
  3. Identify new ways to combine cybersecurity data to create detections and alerts.
  4. Perform incident response, containment, and recovery activities for systems and networks.
  5. Participate in investigations across teams and document results.
  6. Deploy new security tools and applications within the Eastman environment.
  7. Use development skills to automate processes when appropriate.
  8. Evaluate application security and define security requirements and solutions.
  9. Provide cybersecurity consulting within IT projects.
  10. Collaborate on product evaluations and provide recommendations.
  11. Present information to management as needed.
  12. Research industry security trends and help develop response proposals.
  13. Respond to cyber threat activities while on-call.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of development and programming concepts.
  • Familiarity with log aggregation tools like Splunk, QRadar, Arcsight, and Microsoft M365 Security Suite.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in cybersecurity or IT infrastructure roles.
