Delivery Driver role at The Parts Authority in Portland, OR. Company Vehicle Provided. The Delivery Driver plays a pivotal role in the success of our business. They are the main point of contact with our customers and are responsible for fostering strong client relationships. IMC is a division of Parts Authority, a leading distributor with opportunities for advancement and career stability.

Hourly Rate: $16.50

Responsibilities

  • Load, transport, and deliver items to customers or businesses in a timely, friendly and courteous manner.
  • Review orders before and after delivery to ensure orders are complete, charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied.
  • Take and follow directions from dispatcher, adhere to routes and time schedules, use route navigation apps, and know the area to deliver packages on time.
  • Assist with loading and unloading items from vehicles without interfering with operations at the customer’s location.
  • Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and professionally handle complaints and concerns from customers.
  • Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Accept payments, prepare reports (invoices, return forms), and reconcile money collected related to deliveries.
  • Complete daily maintenance checks on the company delivery vehicle and notify the manager of any issues when applicable.
  • Assist in other store/warehouse duties (stock, parts pulling, etc.) as assigned.
  • Maintain and promote workplace safety.
  • Secure and transfer cash or other assets as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current, valid driver’s license
  • Must meet company insurance requirements (drivers must be 21 years old or over)
  • Current valid automobile insurance with your name on the policy
  • Ability to lift, move, push and pull up to 50 pounds; prolonged sitting (Auto Body Parts Collision Drivers must be able to lift 75 lbs)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to manage, track and account for money transactions and reconcile customer credit and debt balances
  • Ability to utilize a tablet and/or mobile device for navigation, route optimization, tracking, and customer interface/signature capture
  • Exceptional customer and verbal communication skills, professional and diplomatic communication
  • Ability to take and follow directions and work well as part of a team
  • Flexible schedule with ability to work overtime as needed
  • Previous delivery driving experience is a plus
