Overview
Delivery Driver position at Palmer Trucks. Reports To: Parts Manager. The Parts Delivery Driver supports the sales effort and effectively delivers products to and from customers. The driver will safely operate and maintain company equipment, represent the organization, and promote the Palmer Road Map with a positive attitude and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- conducts weekly maintenance checks utilizing the vehicle maintenance form to record safety and functionality of assigned vehicle.
- maintains assigned vehicles cleanliness (interior & exterior) in accordance with company policy.
- performs accurate picking & packaging of orders to fulfill customers’ requests.
- communicates accuracy of orders to sales personnel and/or customer.
- plans route for efficient delivery while maintaining positive customer expectations.
- ensures all orders are delivered safely and accurately to customer.
- acts as an extension of the organization and promote goods and services while building customer relations.
- collects, secure, and properly document payment for all orders delivered.
- assists with stocking, pulling, and other business errands as needed when primary tasks are completed.
- assists in answering phones when needed.
- other duties as assigned.

Qualifications And Other Requirements
- Candidate must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
- Position requires a valid driver's license and the ability to operate motor vehicles. All drivers must maintain a safe driving record.
- Working hours: Pickup truck or van drivers may work varying hours, including early mornings, evenings, or weekends, depending on the nature of their job. They may also be required to work long hours or be on-call for deliveries or specific assignments.
- The working conditions of this position is primarily outdoors, all seasons, with varying weather and road conditions.
Physical Requirements
- Mobility: ability to move easily in and out of the truck, and perform tasks that may require bending, lifting, and climbing in and out of the cargo area.
- Vision: good eyesight and visual acuity to safely operate the vehicle, read signs, and navigate the road.
- Hearing: good hearing to be alert to sounds on the road.
- Manual dexterity: ability to operate the vehicle's controls, including the steering wheel, pedals, and other dashboard controls.
- Lifting: may occasionally need to load and unload items from the truck's cargo area, involving lifting and carrying moderate-weight objects.
