Overview

Restaurant Cook role at Hyland Hills Parks & Recreation District. Under the supervision of the Chef & Sous Chef, this position performs proficiently in multiple types of skilled culinary work (knife skills, baking, grilling, sauté, frying, etc.) and maintains all duties assigned by the food and beverage manager.

Location

Restaurant: Cottonwood Lodge

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all local health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of food operations.
  • Provide service to our guests.
  • Read, understand and prepare orders.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Should be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be able to read and understand English.
  • Basic knife skills.
  • Understanding of basic cooking practices.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to pay attention to detail.
  • Must be able to work independently for short periods of time.
  • Must be dependable and punctual with transportation to and from work.
  • Must have a clean uniform and professional uniform.
  • Must work well with teammates.

Working Environment/Physical Activities

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends.
  • Must be able to work at indoor and outdoor temperatures, with extreme heat & cold.
  • Environmental conditions encountered will include noise, fumes, odors, and dust.

Education/Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in the restaurant industry.
  • Food service license preferred.
