Essential Job Duties include supporting the Student Centers Events team with audiovisual setup, operation, and troubleshooting for events in Talley and Witherspoon Student Centers, including spaces such as the ballroom, auditorium, Washington Sankofa Room, and Stafford Commons. The AV Production Assistant will also assist with general event setup as part of the operations team.

Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot audiovisual equipment, including microphones, speakers, projectors, mixers, lighting systems, and video displays.
- Provide on-site AV support during live events to ensure smooth execution and rapid problem resolution.
- Collaborate with event planners and clients to understand AV requirements and ensure technical needs are met.
- Provide excellent customer service to clients, guests, and partners before, during, and after events.
- Assist with physical setup and breakdown of event spaces, including risers, tables, chairs, pipe and drape, and staging materials.
- Maintain equipment inventory and ensure equipment is stored and handled safely.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Support a variety of events such as lectures, performances, ceremonies, and student organization activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the goals of the Events and Student Centers Operations teams.

Experience, Education, and Skills
- Minimum Experience/Education: High School Diploma or equivalency. Demonstrated possession of the competencies to perform the work will be considered.
- Department Required Skills: Experience with audiovisual equipment setup and operation in live event settings; ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs; strong problem-solving skills; ability to work independently under time constraints; flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and irregular hours; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Preferred Years/Experience: Experience in a university or student union setting; knowledge of event production logistics and customer service best practices.
