As the electrical industry's global leader for explosion proof and hazardous environments, Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions (GEIS) manufactures over 100,000 products for NEC and IEC applications, including conduit fittings, cable glands, enclosures, industrial luminaires, and more. This role reports to the Production Manager and serves as the first line contact between production employees and management staff.

Salary: The expected annual salary range for this role is $67500.0 - $99000.0 a year. This position is eligible for a variable incentive program. Salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications as well as market considerations.

What You’ll Do

As an Assistant Supervisor you will provide leadership and direction for hourly work groups within the plant. You will assist the Production Manager with performance tracking with respect to safety and the environment, quality, on-time delivery, and cost for the respective areas. You are the first line contact between production employees and the management staff.

In this role you will:

• Conduct and support daily team start-up meetings with all department personnel in areas of responsibility.
• Represent the company when interacting with production employees on the shop floor.
• Help drive and implement safety policies and programs, meet operating budgets, complete continuous improvement plans, and coach employees on behavior/performance.
• Monitor control plans, troubleshoot workmanship problems, and supervise production activities to ensure manufactured products meet or exceed established quality requirements.
• Create the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardized work processes are followed, and countermeasures are implemented where necessary.
• Ensure that assigned personnel have appropriate training, work instructions and tools to successfully perform jobs and tasks.
• Utilize lean six sigma methodologies to reduce operational costs, inventory and lead-times, and align with long-term manufacturing strategies.
• Partner with leadership to develop and establish manufacturing priorities based on the production schedule and monitor employee work requirements to meet customer deadlines.
• Ensure employees are adhering to all required policies and standards.

Qualifications

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

• Associates degree or High School Diploma/GED.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ manufacturing or operations experience.
• Minimum of one (1) year of leadership experience.
• Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.
• No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Syracuse, NY to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Machining experience (CNC, manual machining, etc.).
• Three (3) years of related operational experience with increasing responsibility and leadership in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with SAP, Microsoft Office, Continuous Improvement projects, and Union environments.
