Performs complex activities for the development, implementation and Continuous Improvement of the manufacturing process, by utilizing sound engineering methods in accordance with product specifications and Civacon quality standards. Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls. Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products.

Responsibilities

  • Determines and specifies, revises and/or reviews the most efficient and cost-effective methods, operation sequences and tooling for the fabrication of parts, finishing and assembly components, subassemblies for final products.
  • Apply Lean Principles to develop processes and improve manufacturing to meet Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery goals.
  • Provide technical guidance and liaison to product operations, assist the supervisor on new techniques and aid in determining causes of rejected parts and disposition.
  • Provide guidance to lower-level manufacturing engineers, tool designers and technicians on various projects and responsibilities.
  • Provide finalized details for manufacturing processing costs for new product quotes. Interface with Product Engineering for design and development of new products. Ensure new products go through design for manufacturing before release and tooling finalization to reduce cost and delivery.
  • Foresee common manufacturing difficulties, plan options, lead Continuous Improvement projects and develop standard work to achieve goals.
  • Manage justification, schedule and budget for Capital Expenditure Projects. Provide input for manufacturing assembly costs and equipment recommendations.
  • Prepare and present plans and coordinate deployment of project plans.
  • Collaborate with cost department to ensure costs, processes and routings are input into Oracle for new releases.
  • Ensure engineering notices are processed correctly and timely.
  • Provide leadership, process data, drawings and schedules for Tool Design, CNC Programming and Maintenance.
  • Attend meetings as needed and interface with customers as required. Perform additional duties to achieve corporate and departmental objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field or equivalent experience of at least 6 years
  • Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques
  • Production Planning Process (3P) experience
  • Extensive technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including flow, plant layout, assembly and production equipment
  • CNC Machine Tools and Practices
  • CNC Programming with EIA Standard RS-274D, G-code or G&M Code
  • CNC Programming with Mazatrol
  • Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
  • Quality orientation and attention to detail
  • Problem Solving Techniques (PDCA)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to lead high performance teams and be a strong team player
  • Windows Office Applications
