Responsibilities

  • Curries, an ASSA ABLOY brand, is expanding its Engineering Team and seeking two talented Manufacturing Engineers to help drive innovation and operational excellence. These on-site roles are based at our Mason City, Iowa manufacturing facility.
  • Provide strategic and technical leadership to ensure the safest work environment, the highest-quality products, and the most efficient production processes.
  • Lead projects, refine processes, and implement effective production strategies that drive measurable results. Collaborate with shop floor personnel, quality teams, engineering, and manufacturing leadership.
  • Ensure compliance and perform duties in accordance with safety and environmental rules and regulations, including ISO14001 procedures.
  • Identify, plan, and implement process improvements including Lean/Kaizen events, savings opportunities (labor, materials, processes), and initiatives to improve productivity, yield, scrap, and downtime.
  • Analyze and optimize manufacturing methods and resources; research and recommend materials, tools, fixtures, and cell layouts to improve efficiency and throughput.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to refine workflows, balance lines, and enhance operational performance.
  • Provide hands-on technical support: troubleshoot production issues, design tools/fixtures/aids, and validate enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain documentation: standard work instructions, manufacturing change requests, and project records for fixtures, tooling, and assemblies.
  • Apply Lean fundamentals for line balancing, product family assignment, work content timing, cell layout, material flow efficiency, continuous flow optimization, and equipment utilization.
  • Perform special assignments or strategic projects as assigned; contribute to a safe and harmonious working environment and ensure compliance with governance policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial preferred) or related field; advanced credentials or certifications in Lean/Continuous Improvement a plus.
  • 5+ years of progressive manufacturing experience in process optimization and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or SolidWorks for advanced design, layout planning, and production support.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities with a track record of driving complex projects and operational improvements in fast-paced settings.
