Manufacturing Specialist Job at McElroy Manufacturing, Inc. in Tulsa
McElroy Manufacturing, Inc., Tulsa, OK, United States, 74145
Overview
Are you a seasoned machinist who thrives on solving problems, improving processes, and sharing your knowledge with others? We’re looking for a Manufacturing Specialist to be the go-to resource for process and quality support on our production floor.
In this role, you’ll work side-by-side with operators and machinists—troubleshooting non-conforming parts, digging into root causes, and driving corrective actions. You’ll also play a key role in training, mentoring, and equipping our production team with the skills they need to succeed.
What You’ll Do
- Inspect parts at the work-center when issues arise and identify the root cause.
- Implement corrective actions that prevent repeat problems.
- Provide hands-on technical assistance and training for machinists and operators.
- Use your machining experience to set up, troubleshoot, and improve equipment performance.
- Read and edit programs, interpret blueprints, and teach others how to do the same.
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or GED (Technical or Vocational education preferred).
- 5+ years’ experience in a shop environment, machining and inspecting parts.
- A proven track record in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and implementing lasting fixes.
- Strong experience training and developing others.
- Machining expertise, with programming knowledge and blueprint reading skills.
Physical Job Requirements
- Must be able to routinely work both in an office environment, sitting at a computer, as well as spend time going through the shop, bending, squatting, and climbing, while assisting personnel, inspecting work and machines and checking procedures.
- Corrected levels of vision and hearing are essential since problems and emergencies must be communicated through voice or visual signals.
- Climbing into or onto some machines is required to evaluate how a part is progressing.
- Inspection areas require moving of material and parts weighing up to 50 pounds. Parts must be lifted, pulled, pushed, and held in place without benefit of material handling devices due to limited space and confined areas in and around machines.
Safety-Sensitive Designation
Jobs which involve one or more tasks or duties that could affect the safety and health of the employee performing the task or others are considered safety-sensitive. This position is safety-sensitive because, in addition to the essential functions listed above, it also involves performing one or more of the following essential tasks or duties:
- The handling, packaging, processing, storage, disposal or transport of hazardous material

- Repairing, maintaining or monitoring the performance or operation of any equipment, machinery or manufacturing process, the malfunction or disruption of which could result in injury or property damage
