Primary Position Objective

Performs general maintenance and landscaping duties on Center grounds and surrounding areas. Follows policies and procedures in accordance with DOL, PRH, Center and Serrato Corporation requirements.

Brief Description of Duties

• Performs necessary skilled or unskilled work in one or more areas of plumbing, heating, carpentry, painting and minor construction as needed.
• Paints interiors or exteriors of Center buildings or any other surfaces with hand brush or spray gun.
• Performs minor construction such as building storage bins, stockroom shelves, counters, workbenches, etc., using precision hand and power tools to accomplish work.
• Supervises and assigns students to work detail: Keeps classrooms and halls cleaned and mopped, empties trash cans, cleans bathrooms, waxes floors when needed, picks up trash outside buildings, and maintains supplies.
• Performs any other details necessary to keep buildings and grounds in good shape.
• Ensures that equipment is not abused and is cleaned, serviced, and in operable condition at all times, with all equipment put away at the end of each work day.
• Assists in maintaining appropriate records, files, and supplies for maintenance operation as directed by supervisor.
• Ensures grounds are well maintained and actions are safety oriented.
• Keeps informed on hazard communications and works toward meeting performance management goals.
• Follows CDSS plan and Code of Conduct system daily and maintains good housekeeping in all areas, complying with safety practices.
• Complies with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures.
• Models, mentors, monitors appropriate Career Success Standards.
• Participation in PRH mandated staff training is mandatory. Failure to participate may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
• Presents information clearly and concisely and regularly confirms correct interpretation of information. Demonstrates very high standard of written and verbal communication for presenting facts and ideas.
• Demonstrates the ability to handle several projects simultaneously and applies time management, task allocation, and priority setting alongside personal organization. Seeks ways to improve service through professional skill development and personal growth and initiates responses to suggestions for improving service.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.

Experience

Three to six months of related experience preferred.

Education

High School Diploma or GED.

Certificates/Licenses/Registration

• Valid State Driver's License
