Position Title: Forklift Operator

Job Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt

Location: Bolling JBA Commissary, 185 Chappie James Boulevard, Washington, DC 20032

Reports To: Warehouse Specialist / Material Handler Lead

Position Summary

The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating government-furnished or contractor-owned powered industrial trucks to safely move, stage, and organize palletized merchandise within the RSHA and designated receiving areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid forklift certification (OSHA-compliant)
• 1+ year of experience operating forklifts or MHE
• Must understand forklift safety and maintenance procedures
• Ability to work in refrigerated or freezer storage environments
• Must pass a base access background screening

Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to unload, transport, and store goods
• Adhere to designated driving lanes and lifting protocols within RSHA
• Maintain forklift logs and report any maintenance issues
• Assist with physical placement of items in temperature-controlled zones
• Secure and safely stack merchandise in designated staging areas
• Follow safety and emission control requirements for MHE operations
• Remove fuel tanks for propane-powered units after shifts as required
