FORKLIFT OPERATOR Job at 48forty Solutions in San Antonio

Overview

As a Forklift Operator, you will load and unload trailers with wooden pallets and move pallets inside our plants to keep manufacturing production moving safely and efficiently. We seek a motivated individual who can maintain a safe and efficient pace.

Hourly Pay: $18.00/hr

Shift: 1st Shift Monday - Friday 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Location: 5250 Tacco Drive, San Antonio, TX 78244 (Northeast)

Responsibilities

• Unload deliveries of pallets and/or wood to the proper location inside the plant
• Move freshly cut and recycled wood to the appropriate worktable area
• Stack finished products into trailers or storage areas up to a safe height
• Maintain a safe working environment by lifting, stacking, and transporting materials with all other plant personnel in mind

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of forklift experience
• Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, lumber, carpentry, welding, roofing, and/or construction is strongly preferred
• Willingness to work in a labor-intensive environment
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Willing to work overtime as needed

Work Environment & Requirements

• Ability to work in extreme conditions including elements, heat, cold, and air particulates
• Repetitively lift up to 50-75 pounds and operate a forklift for extended periods
• Noise level varies by location
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (eye protection, ear protection at several locations, safety shoes)
• Specific vision abilities required: close, distance, and color vision
