The Role

Develops, analyzes, researches, and designs welding techniques, procedures, and applications. Uses welding skill and knowledge to develop and implement processes and techniques to ensure craft compliance with requirements and improve productivity. Performs procedure qualification with all shipyard welding processes.

Must Have

  • 3 Years of welding experience in all main welding processes used at Ingalls with a Bachelor’s Degree in related field; 1 year of Welding Experience in all main welding processes used at Ingalls with a Master’s Degree. A combination of education and experience may be used in lieu of degree.

Nice to Have

  • Excellent hands-on welding skills in all main welding processes used at Ingalls Shipbuilding. Ability to efficiently utilize internal Welding Engineering documents such as SSG M5310, SSG M5317 and SSG M5350. Understanding of Navy standards such as S9074-AQ-GIB-010/248, S9074-AR-GIB-010/278 and MIL-STD 1689A.
  • 5 years minimum experience in industrial and office setting. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Ability to multi-task and to work outside in elements when needed.
