Medical Assistant Sports Medicine at Intermountain Health. Location: Ephraim Clinic with satellite locations in Mt. Pleasant, Manti, and Sevier that require travel to support the provider.

Base pay range: $19.00/hr - $28.00/hr. The actual pay will be based on skills and experience.

Job Description

A Medical Assistant has accountability for providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting, including patients with acute and chronic needs. The Medical Assistant communicates clearly with patients seeking care through telephone and in-person interactions.

Shift Details

Full-Time (40 hrs/wk): Mondays 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Tuesdays 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM; Wednesdays to Fridays 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Unit/Location

Ephraim Sports Medicine – Satellite locations in Mt. Pleasant, Manti and Sevier; travel to support the provider may be required.

Responsibilities

• Providing patient care: Under the direction of the clinician, assist the provider by gathering information relative to the patient’s visit and condition.
• Effective communication: Communicate clearly with patients via telephone and in-person interactions.
• Team collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to coordinate patient care; attention to detail and follow-through are essential.

Minimum Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program (certification must be provided upon hire).
• Or at least one year of Medical Assistant experience (verified upon hire) or current RN/LPN license to practice nursing in the state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers. Must be obtained prior to start date.
• Demonstrated basic computer skills involving word processing and data entry.
• Professional manner and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with patients and fellow caregivers to deliver high-level customer/patient satisfaction.
• Ability to protect privacy, confidentiality, and PHI of patients, members, and caregivers.
• Utah only: If certified with less than one year of MA experience, caregivers may attend a yearlong MA residency program.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.
• Computer literacy in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software.
• Current national MA certification from one of the following: RMA (AMT), NCMA, CCMA, or CMA (AAMA).

The hourly range listed is $19.87 - $28.31 and may vary based on experience.
