Cambridge Associates has $389 billion in assets under advisement, of which roughly $30 billion is managed for clients on a discretionary basis. Cambridge Associates is a privately held investment firm based in the United States. It provides investment portfolio management and advisory services to institutional investors, including foundations and endowments, pensions, private clients, and corporate and government entities.

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking to hire an experienced investor to work with the Chief Investment Officer ("CIO") of a team managing $15bn in private client assets. The role involves constructing and managing client portfolios and communicating timely information to clients. Client portfolios range from $150 million to over $4.5 billion.

The team acts as the dedicated investment office for 12 family offices across the U.S., Canada, Central America, and South America. They focus on timely client engagement and efficient portfolio execution, growing organically through client referrals and strong networks in the family office market. The team has a flat structure with clear roles, and team members meet daily to discuss markets, investment themes, managers, and client portfolios, maintaining a focus on task and project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning and Business Building: Collaborate with the team to build market awareness and develop a pipeline of $B+ families; manage and grow a large book of business, cultivating leads and closing deals.
  • Relationship Management: Serve as senior spokesperson; lead client, prospect, and manager meetings, effectively navigating relationships.
  • Investing: Partner with the team to develop strategic visions for client portfolios, including focus areas, manager evaluation, current exposures, and liquidity management.
  • Team Management: Advocate for resourcing and technology needs, mentor, coach, and develop team talent.
